Preliminary tax reports see an increase in property value

Property owners have a reason to protest or rejoice since the release of the preliminary tax appraisal reports for 2014.
The city of Taylor has seen an increase in the average value of homes, jumping from $91,265 last year to $100,300 this year. Taxable value, which is the price after exemptions, went from $86,635 last year to $97,800 this year.
