Someone posing as an officer from the Williamson County Sherriff’s office has recently scammed citizens in Williamson County.
The sheriff’s office is currently investigating a number of incidents where people are being called and told a warrant is being issued for failure to appear for jury duty. The name of the officer alternates, and they claim the person can take care of the warrant by paying over the phone in the form of a “Green Dot†or prepaid card. Detective Scott Dubielak said no one should ever give payment information over the phone.
