Hollywood stunts practiced in Oak Hill

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Hollywood may be thousands of miles away, but the effects, stunts, and explosions seen on the big screen are learned and practiced in Oak Hill.

“As a stunt and special effects team, we have worked over 300 movies,” said Steve Wolf with the Stunt Ranch at Oak Hill.

Wolf’s ranch includes ziplines, a giant wall used to practice falls, and an old limousine that has been set on fire hundreds of times during pyrotechnic testing.

The ranch hosts public events and parties to allow the public to see and learn the detail, skill, and precision behind the dangerous moves and explosions seen in movies.

“When you see the detail a crew goes through to make sure it is safe, it is something you will have a lot or respect for,” said Wolf.

The ranch recently hosted a Discovery Channel special called ” What Destroyed the Hindenburg.”
