Boar’s Head Festival ushers Christmas

AUSTIN (KXAN) – The Boar’s Head Festival kicks off this Saturday and that means Christmas isn’t over just yet.

The annual event is a Medieval Christmas Celebration with period costumes, music and dance.

The performance takes patrons to a castle of Olde England, a lavish royal party and the arrival of the Yule Log. Along with the presentation carolers will be singing and a celebration of the Board’s Head, a conquest of the ferocious wild boar.

The Boar’s Head Festival and orchestral musical production takes place at 7:00 p.m. at St Albert The Great Catholic Church.

Organizers say guests are welcome to attend in costume as well as participate in the singing.

This is the 10th year for the celebration in Austin.
