The new Yahoo News Reality Series ‘Remake America,’ is a a new weekly reality series that puts the concerns of the nation into the human context by following the experiences of six average families striving to achieve “the American Dream,” including the Fonseca family Jose, Starlight and their five kids from Austin.

From unemployment to mounting debt to healthcare, this emotional show hopes to reinforce and educate viewers about the major issues facing our country in the 2012 election year and beyond. The family will be profiled for the next eight months as part of the documentary series.

After moving across the country for a law school program, Starlight became sick and lost her scholarship. Without a strong credit score, she was not eligible for a student loan and has been forced to withdraw from school.

Following numerous health concerns for both Starlight and her son, who has been diagnosed with Aspergers syndrome, the family is on the brink of homelessness with no income to pay for living expenses or health insurance.
