Samsung Austin Semiconductor, located at 12100 Samsung Blvd., will host a free Christmas tree and electronics recycling drive Dec. 29–30 and Jan. 3–4.

This is the third year that Samsung will be recycling trees, but it is the first year that the company will be taking electronics, which may include computers, monitors, TVs, phones, laptops, AC adaptors, batteries, CDs and more. Home appliances will not be recycled.

“We are trying to divert the waste from the landfill,” said Doug Bradford, environmental engineer for Samsung.

Round 2, headquartered in Southeast Austin, will process the recycled electronics.

To participate in the drive, bring your Christmas tree or electronics to Gate 3—the only gate that will be open—between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

For more information about the drive, call 672-1000.
