AUSTIN (KXAN) – An Austin police officer was injured early Friday in the run on Nike sneaker at a local shopping center, but it does not appear that the disruptions that led to several arrests at outlets across the nation occurred here.

Local retailers, however, had run out of the shoes because of high demand.

Austin police are planning a news briefing late Friday to offer more details on the injured officer.
