Austin (KXAN) – An Amtrak train was stranded in Hutto for several hours Saturday evening due to mechanical issues.

Passengers said they were stuck inside the train without air conditioning for at least three hours. According to Amtrak officials the power was restored around 9.30 pm.

Amtrak also said they sent emergency service to the scene to assist passengers. Passengers reported paramedics had been called to the train for possible heat-related issues.

Passengers said the train continued its route to San Antonio around 10 pm.
