AUSTIN (KXAN) – A Wells Fargo bank near U.S. Highway 183 and State Highway 71 was robbed at gunpoint Thursday morning and the robber ran off, police said.

Police said they are looking for a man in his 20s who was sporting a goatee.

The robbery, the first of the new year in Austin, occurred around 10 a.m.

Police searched a field near the bank at 912 Bastrop Highway but could not locate the robber.
