AUSTIN (KXAN) – Travis County Sheriff’s Office reported Friday afternoon that a man was killed in a crash between a car and an asphalt truck.

The call came in to TCSO at about 3:10 p.m.

The crash happened in the 10000 block of West State Highway 71 between Old Bee Caves Road and Southwest Parkway.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said David Broccolo, 22, was driving eastbound on SH 71 in his Mazda when he lost control and ran into the truck that was going in the opposite direction. 

Broccolo died at the scene. The truck driver did not sustain any injuries.
