4-10 Leander Police Reports

Police responded to the 1800 block of Mockingbird Lane after receiving a report that a woman was screaming. When police arrived, they found a couple involved in an argument. A man was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, but police found no assault had taken place.



 

A woman on Rim Rock Drive reported that she recently discovered that someone obtained a cash advance on her account via the Internet back in 2011.


 

Credit card abuse was reported in the 10200 block of East Crystal Falls Parkway. A total of $944 was taken in 12 transactions, which occurred between November and April.


 

Interference with an emergency phone call was reported recently on Moon Glow Drive. According to the report, police responded to a report of a fight, and a man at the home said his roommate grabbed his arm to keep him from calling the police. The men were separated for the evening.


 

Criminal mischief was reported in the 3000 block of South Bagdad Road.


 

Burglary of a habitation was reported in the 1800 block of Harvest Dance Drive. According to the report, two Yeti coolers and an Igloo cooler were stolen.


 

Assault by contact/threat was reported at Rouse High School. A student was issued a citation for assault by contact.


 

Possession of marijuana was reported at Wiley Middle School and two juveniles were taken into custody after police found two baggies of marijuana and a Dr. Pepper can that was reportedly used as a pipe.


 

At about 2 p.m. on March 30, Leander police officers responded to the 700 block of Leander Drive on the report of a citizen assist. According to the report, a woman pointed out a wallet that had been left in the office under a chair.


 

At about 8:30 a.m. on April 1, Leander police were dispatched to the 300 block of South West Drive in reference to a possession of a controlled substance call. A juvenile at the LEO Center was placed in custody.


 

Burglary of a vehicle was reported in the 1100 block of Canadian Cove. According to the report, two bicycles were missing, along with $6 cash that was taken from a purse inside a vehicle.


 

Assault with injury/family violence was reported in the 1500 block of Tierra Alto. According to the report, a woman said she was assaulted by a man she lives with. Albert Eric Robles Jr., 24, Leander, was arrested on suspicion of assault with injury.


 

A girl’s bicycle was found in the 1900 block of Tipperary Drive.


 

Criminal mischief was reported at Cedar Ridge Apartments on South Bagdad Road. According to the report, a woman said someone poured sand and oil into the gas tank of her mother’s van. Police later cleared the case after it was determined that no damage was caused and the owner of the van did not wish to purse charges.


 

Police responded to a hit-and-run accident in the 1400 block of U.S. Highway 183. According to the report, witnesses said a silver Saturn car hit a red Chevy pickup and then left the scene.


 

Theft was reported at the Leander Flea Market at 1001 CR 271 near the intersection of Toll Road 183A. According to the report an Apple iPad Mini with a pink magnetic case was taken.


 

Burglary of a building was reported in the 2400 block of U.S. Highway 183 South. According to the report, items missing included a green suitcase, along with electronics and clothing.


 

Officers were dispatched to Cedar Ridge Apartments in the 2700 block of South Bagdad Road to a report of a fight in progress. Police arrested a juvenile for assault with injury.


 

Assault by contact/threat was reported in the 2500 block of White Stallion Way.


 

Assault with injury/family violence was reported in the 700 block of Escondido Drive. According to the report, police arrested a juvenile on suspicion of assault with injury, interference with an emergency phone call, criminal mischief and possession of marijuana. The juvenile was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of tobacco.


 

Assault with injury/family violence was reported at Lakeline Apartments in the 3000 block of North Lakeline Boulevard. According to the report, a woman said she was assaulted.


 

While working traffic enforcement, a Leander officer said he noted a pickup with tinted windows that were so dark, they were obviously illegal. The officer noted that the driver then failed to signal two lane changes, and the officer stopped the pickup in the 1600 block of South U.S. Highway 183. Because the driver was from another state and said he did not know about the tint laws he was only issued a warning, however, police found that he had a criminal arrest warrant from Temple. Spencer Heath Desjardis, of Fort Hood, was arrested on the warrant.


 

Leander police impounded a vehicle after a traffic stop determined that the driver had an invalid license, no seat belt and was in possession of an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. The passenger was also cited for possession of an open container of alcohol, and both driver and passenger were released at the scene.


 

Theft was reported in the 300 block of Greener Drive. According to the report, a woman said her television was taken.


 

Police responded to a fight in the 700 block of Rubles Court after a woman reported an assault. Clayton Paul Beaird, 35, of Leander was arrested on suspicion of assault causing bodily injury/family violence with a previous conviction.


 

Burglary of a vehicle was reported in the 100 block of McCarthur. According to the report, a woman said a blue iPod Nano was stolen from a vehicle that had been parked in the driveway.


 

Burglary of a habitation was reported in the 700 block of Lion Drive. According to the report, a blue Coleman compressor was stolen.


 

Interference with child custody was reported at Lakeline Apartments in the 3000 block of Lakeline Boulevard. According to the report, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services filed a compliant of interference with child custody, and the investigation is underway. No arrest was made and no charges were filed immediately.


 

Leander patrol officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of South U.S. Highway 183 to investigate a “suspicious incident.” According to the report, the complainant told police that a motorist had been in their vehicle at the address for about 20 minutes. Police found him to be in possession of drugs. Nicholas Steven Baumgart, 21, of Cedar Park was arrested on two counts of possession of a controlled substance, including methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.


 

On March 20 at about 1 p.m. officers discovered that the speed limit sign located at County Road 279 and North Creek had been struck by a vehicle, which had left the scene without reporting the accident. A report was taken.


 

Credit card abuse was reported by a woman in the 700 block of Leander Drive. The case is under investigation.


 

Graffiti was reported in the 500 block of Eaglecreek Drive.


 

Harassment was reported in the 700 block of Pampas Ricas. According to the report, a woman said she was being harassed.


 

In the early morning hours of March 31 an employee with the Leander City Water Department reported that a vehicle was stopped off the road in the 100 block of North U.S. Highway 183. It was reported that the person in the vehicle might be intoxicated. Police responded and found the driver, Bradley Major, 27, of Liberty Hill, was arrested for public intoxication and possession of marijuana.


 

On March 29, officers responded to the 300 block of Glen Valley Lane on a report of an assault. Police arrested Matthew W. Ross, 36, of Leander for disorderly conduct.


 

Theft was reported in the 600 block of North U.S. Highway 183. According to the report, “Dalton Michael Popham was found to have stolen 10 cases of Budweiser and ran from police who were making contact with him.” Popham was charged with theft and evading arrest.


 

A baggie with drug residue was found in the 700 block of Leander Drive.


 

Harassment was reported at Lakeline Apartments in the 3000 block of Lakeline Boulevard. According to the report, a woman said her ex-boyfriend was continuously sending her e-mails and text messages. Police contacted the former boyfriend and told him to stop all contact.


 

Police were called to conduct a welfare concern on Burgess Drive after a woman was reported missing.


 

Burglary of a habitation was reported in the 2000 block of Sydnee Drive. Items missing included an Xbox, an HP laptop computer, an iPod Nano, a Browning 30.06, a plastic gun case, a Military specification bug out bag, an air soft gun, a blu-ray player, a Sony Play Station 3, a Colt Commander .45, diamond earrings, an emerald ring, necklaces, a bracelet, Play Station games, a tablet computer and a backpack.


 

Assault of an elderly person was reported to police at about 3:30 p.m. on April 1. According to the report, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of South West Drive, where an elderly woman was reportedly injured. Police arrested Raul Lira, 59, of Leander was arrested on a complaint of assault to an elderly person.


 

Assault by contact/threat was reported in the 1800 block of Paseo Verde. Police are investigating.
