Man fires warning shots inside home

CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) – A Cedar Park SWAT team is trying to negotiate with a suicidal male who has fired shots inside his home on Wednesday night.

According to Cedar Park Police Chief Sean Mannix, officers originally responded to the 100 block of Walnut Creek Drive around 6 p.m. when a neighbor called and said there was a disturbance.

When officers arrived, they encountered a man who did not want to come out of his home. 

The man indicated to police that he is suicidal and police say he did fire several warning shots inside the home. No one else is inside the home at this time and no one has been injured.

As of 9 p.m., negotiators are actively talking to him and trying to get him to come out of the home.

Cedar Park officers have not fired any shots in return.
