TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) – Two pets died in a fire that ripped through a Briarcliff home on Friday night

The fire started just after 6:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Fife Drive.

According to Jared Mikeska, a spokesperson for the Pedernales Fire Department, the fire caused a structural collapse and a roof collapse.

Everyone in the home was able to get out safely, but the family wasn’t able to get the pets out.

Authorities believe the fire might have started in the kitchen area.
