Severe weather heading for Central TX

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Central Texas is bracing for storms and rain showers Sunday afternoon and into the evening which could bring damaging winds and hail.

KXAN Meteorologist Natalie Stoll says a weak cold front moving through the area is expected to bring  thunderstorms that will linger through peak hours of the day.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch through 10:00pm.

Stoll says the some of the stronger storms will produce potentially damaging wind gusts of more than 60 mph and large hail. The storms should taper off as the front passes.
