AUSTIN (KXAN) – An Austin gun shop owner is firing back at Groupon after their recent decision to stop all deals involving guns.

“Enough is enough. I am not going to take it anymore when we have law-abiding citizens doing the right thing,” said Michael Cargill, the owner of Central Texas Gun Works.

Cargill was offering a Groupon deal for a handgun course and said it was a popular seller.

He said despite Groupon suspending the deal, he intends to honor the deal and expects Groupon to do the same.

“I’ll make sure they all get that deal,” said Cargill who criticized Groupon for punishing responsible gun owners who are trying to learn safety.

“These are not the type of people who are going to commit crimes,” Cargill said of the customers who purchased the Groupon deal.

Groupon made a brief statement that the “category is under review following recent customer and merchant feedback.”

Central Texas Gun Works still had a long line of people waiting outside their door on Monday morning for the AR lower receiver.

Cargill said they received 100 receivers, a piece of equipment that allows owners to build an AR handgun or rifle.

President Obama’s recent speech on gun control has created a demand for the receivers.

“He is pushing for this firearm to be banned,” said Cargill. “People want to get it before the president bans it.”

Nathan Hewitt was the lucky customer in line who was able to buy the last receiver available.

“We just figured we would buy what we could while we still can” said Hewitt.

“We understand they have been used in some bad things these days, but we are law-abiding owners and support the 2 ^nd amendment.
