AUSTIN (KXAN) – A man died on Wednesday night when he was struck by a vehicle as he was changing a tire on his vehicle.

The accident happened around 8 p.m. in the 1700 block of Deloney Stree t, near E. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Police said the man was changing a tire on the street when a vehicle drove by and struck him. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene. 

The pedestrian died a short time later at the hospital.
