AUSTIN (KXAN) – Police said Monday they found a man’s body in South Austin.

Officers were first called to the 4900 block of S. 1st Street at about 8:30 a.m. for a still water rescue.

When rescue crews arrived they said the body was already dead in the creek.

Austin Police Department homicide officers will now take over the investigation.
