Deputies chase Travis Co. motorcyclist

TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) – A man on a motorcycle led Travis County sheriff’s deputies on a chase early Monday morning in Northwest Travis County near Cedar Park.

Just after midnight, a deputy tried to pull over the motorcycle rider after clocking him at about 80 mph on Dies Ranch Road. The rider refused to stop, and the deputy began to chase him.

The man ditched the bike ran away after wrecking his bike not too long after the chase began.

Sheriff’s officials launched STARFlight to help find him, spending a couple of hours looking without any success.

“We have his bike, so when he comes to get it, we’ll have a talk with him,” said sheriff’s spokesman Roger Wade.
