AUSTIN (KXAN) – Austin police are investigating a fatal accident where a man crossing I-35S was struck and killed.

Police said the accident happened around 6:45 p.m. in the main southbound lanes of I-35 near Slaughter Lane in south Austin.    

Investigators are still trying to determine if one vehicle struck the pedestrian or multiple vehicles. 

Drivers headed southbound are being diverted onto the frontage road just north of Slaughter Lane.
