AUSTIN — As Democratic leadership in the Texas House of Representatives planned their strategy to fight pre-abortion sonogram legislation. One of their members joined with dozens of Republicans, including four Republican freshman from the Austin area, in supporting the bill.

The House is expected on Wednesday to debate a bill which would require Texas woman to see a sonogram image before an abortion is provided.

State Rep. Larry Gonzales, R-Round Rock; State Rep. Charles Schwetner, R-Georgetown; State Rep. Paul Workman, R-Oak Hill; and State Rep. Jason Isaac, R-Dripping Springs, are all listed as co-authors. The gesture is largely symbolic of their support of their bill, rather than indicating their contribution to the wording of the bill.

One Democratic state representative has signed on as a co-author. State Rep. Chente Quintanilla, D-Tornillo, is listed as a co-author.
