Bedford woman, 18, found slain in Central Texas

Police are investigating the slaying of an 18-year-old Bedford woman and are asking anyone with information to please give them a call.

Tynesia BrownÂ’s body was found about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in an isolated area off County Road 370 near Interstate 35 south of Jarrell, a news release said.

Brown suffered a gunshot wound, but police say they believe that she may have been slain at another location, the release said.

Brown may have been traveling with a man and another woman in a silver sedan and was last seen by her mother on Friday at their residence in Bedford, the release said.

Brown and her two companions are believed to have visited truck stops and hotels near Interstate 35, the release said. It advised hotel personnel to call 911 if they see what they believe might be a crime scene or if they notice a significant amount of blood.

Brown was about 5-feet 5 inches tall and 135 pounds, with black hair, a blond streak running through it and hair extensions, police said.

Anyone with information about Brown or the people she was traveling with should contact 911 or the Williamson County SheriffÂ’s Office at 512-943-1300. Callers can also contact Williamson County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-253-7867 or North Texas Crime Stoppers 1-877-373-TIPS (8477).

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered through Crime Stoppers. Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward if the information given leads to an arrest or indictment.
