I am pleased to announce that the Libertarian Christian Institute will be hosting a breakout session at the International Students For Liberty Conference 2016 in Washington, D.C. next month. The conference is at the Marriott Wardman Park hotel and convention center on Feb. 26-28. The title of our session is “Christianity and Libertarianism: Allies, not Enemies” and hearkens back to Christian libertarian luminary Edmund Opitz’s seminal book on religion and capitalism.

Our session description: “Can Christians be libertarians? Can libertarians be Christians? Join us for a discussion of why libertarianism is the most consistent expression of Christian political thought. Hear about the work of the Libertarian Christian Institute and what it is doing to promote liberty ideas to Christians around the globe.” Like SFL, we believe that students are tremendously important in the spread of liberty, and we want to make sure all Christian students know that they are not shackled by the typical left-right paradigm that is so prevalent in churches today. But whether you’re a student or not, the ISFLC is a great event open to all and we hope you’ll join us for a great discussion session.
