The Williamson County Purchasing Office was the recipient of the 2015 Achievement of Excellence in Public Purchasing Award.  This is the 16th consecutive year Williamson County has received this award. Williamson County is one of only 47 counties in both the U.S. and Canada to receive the award. This award is the national program to benchmark organizational excellence in procurement and recognizes excellence and best practices in the areas of: ethics, customer service processes, procurement automation, procurement card management, contracting, staff development, leadership, and continuous improvement.

“The Achievement of Excellence in Public Procurement Award is a great honor because it represents the collective efforts of everyone in the purchasing cycle. It is a collaborative effort by not only the purchasing staff, but other county departments and the business community together with the support of the Commissioners Court,” stated Max Bricka, purchasing agent for Williamson County Purchasing Department. “We are thrilled to receive this recognition for the 16th consecutive year.”

The award is determined and sponsored by the National Procurement Institute, Institute for Supply Management, Institute for Public Procurement, National Association of State Procurement Officials, the National Association of Educational Procurement, the National Institute for Governmental Purchasing, the California Association of Public Procurement Officials, the Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials, and the Texas Public Purchasing Association.
