BURNET, Texas (KXAN) – An accident between two cars on State Highway 281 near Burnet left two dead and two in the hospital after rainy conditions.

A mother traveling in the south bound lane lost control of her car after hydroplaning.

She then swerved into the north bound lane colliding with another car.

According to Burnet Police Chief Paul Nelson, the mother and her 8 year-old son died on impact from the crash.

The passenger and driver of the other car are now being treated at the Seton Highlands Hospital.
