Keeping Us Safe?

In the latest instance of someone completely exposing the TSA’s costly, ineffective, and invasive screening procedures for what it is, security theater, a writer from Vanity Fair goes through a TSA checkpoint at Reagan National Airport — with a fake boarding pass.

The day before, I had downloaded an image of a boarding pass from the Delta Web site, copied and pasted the letters with Photoshop, and printed the results with a laser printer. I am not a photo-doctoring expert, so the work took me nearly an hour. The T.S.A. agent waved me through without a word.

Feel safer yet?

As someone who almost always flies out of Reagan, and frequently with Delta, I know I sure do.
